In the spring of 1985, two Junior High educators with a combined total of Twenty-seven years of experience in leading group tours, began talking about the historical areas of the United States.  They talked about starting a company that would provide students with educational experiences that were not obtainable in a traditional classroom.  Experiences that would give students a greater understanding of the things they read about in their textbooks.  Experiences that would last a lifetime.  Out of these discussions 500 Tours was formed.
